In a powerful demonstration of innovation and self-reliance under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, reviewed cutting-edge battlefield technologies and indigenous innovations showcased by the Battle Axe Division and Konark Corps during Exercise Akhand Prahar.
The large-scale field exercise, conducted as a subset of the ongoing Tri-Services Exercise Trishul, highlights the Indian Army’s increasing emphasis on integrating indigenous solutions into operational doctrines and tactical applications.

During his visit, Lt Gen Seth observed the deployment of indigenously developed drones, counter-drone systems, and force protection technologies, all designed and produced through local innovation cells and defence startups working with field formations. These innovations are tailored to enhance situational awareness, tactical mobility, and protection of troops in modern, technology-driven battlefields.

The Army Commander commended the Battle Axe Division for its forward-looking approach, praising the seamless synergy between field units and defence innovators. He lauded the troops for their high operational readiness, adaptability, and commitment to self-reliance in critical warfighting technologies.
Exercise Akhand Prahar forms part of the Army’s broader drive to validate multi-domain warfare concepts and test the operational integration of indigenously produced systems under realistic battlefield conditions.

Lt Gen Seth’s review reaffirmed Southern Command’s role as a frontrunner in promoting Atmanirbharta, innovation, and combat preparedness, reinforcing India’s transition towards a technologically empowered and self-reliant military force.
