The Advance Air Defence Course commenced at the Army Air Defence College (AADC), Gopalpur, on 12 November 2025. The 13-week intensive programme is designed to equip participants with advanced tactical and technical expertise in the operation of Air Defence (AD) radars, guns, and sophisticated missile systems — ensuring the safeguarding of Indian airspace with cutting-edge precision.
Empowering Air Defence Professionals
The course brings together 25 Indian Army officers and two officers from Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs) — one each from Namibia and Nepal. Through a comprehensive curriculum combining classroom instruction, simulation-based training, and field exercises, the course aims to enhance participants’ ability to detect, track, and neutralise aerial threats in a rapidly evolving battlespace.
Integrating Technology with Tactical Mastery
Focusing on the tactical application of modern AD weapon systems, the training emphasises the use of next-generation radar technologies, surface-to-air missile systems, and automated command and control networks.
