Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth Reviews Joint Sea–Land Operations Onboard INS Jalashwa

Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, reviewed the operational readiness of the Amphibious Forces of Southern Command during the ongoing Tri-Service Exercise Trishul.

The Army Commander embarked onboard the Indian Navy’s amphibious platform INS Jalashwa, accompanied by Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, and Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Air Command (SWAC).

First Wave of Amphibious Assault Launched

During the exercise, Lt Gen Seth oversaw the launch of the first Infantry Platoon with a tank, deployed via Landing Craft Mechanised (LCM) during the opening wave of beaching operations. These drills are part of validating India’s capability to execute sea-to-land power projection, enabling rapid and coordinated insertion of combat forces onto hostile shores.

The meticulously coordinated operations highlighted the refining of tactics, manoeuvres, and landing procedures, emphasising the Indian Armed Forces’ ability to operate as a unified combat team across multiple domains.

Tri-Service Integration on Full Display

The amphibious phase of Exercise Trishul demonstrated:

  • Indian Army’s precision manoeuvre capability from sea to shore,
  • Indian Navy’s amphibious and sealift excellence aboard INS Jalashwa and associated craft,
  • Indian Air Force’s air support, ISR integration and operational coordination,

all functioning in flawless synergy to accomplish mission objectives.

Validating Jointmanship and Multi-Domain Preparedness

The exercise served as a powerful testament to the Indian military’s:

  • Jointmanship across land, sea and air,
  • Interoperability at tactical and operational levels,
  • Precision Execution of complex integrated missions,
  • Combat readiness for multi-domain contingencies in India’s maritime and desert theatres.

Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth lauded the professionalism, agility, and readiness of all participating formations of the Southern Command, Western Naval Command, and SWAC, reinforcing that joint and integrated operations remain central to future conflicts.
