Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander, Northern Command, visited North Kashmir to review the anti-infiltration grid and assess the operational readiness of frontline formations deployed along the Line of Control (LoC).
Review of Forward Areas and Anti-Infiltration Measures
During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma inspected forward posts and critical sectors, where he was briefed on the current security situation, deployment posture, and ongoing measures to counter infiltration attempts in the rugged terrain and harsh climatic conditions of North Kashmir.
Senior field commanders provided detailed updates on the state-of-the-art surveillance systems and next-generation technologies being used to reinforce border defence. These included advanced electro-optical devices, high-resolution sensors, counter-infiltration grids, UAV-based monitoring, and real-time communication networks that significantly enhance situational awareness.

Lt Gen Pratik Sharma lauded the troops for their:

The Army Commander reiterated that the Northern Command remains fully prepared to counter infiltration, maintain operational dominance, and respond effectively to any security contingency.
He emphasised that the seamless integration of modern technology, ground intelligence, and battlefield innovation continues to strengthen the Armyโs ability to safeguard the nationโs borders with precision and foresight.

The visit underscored the Indian Armyโs unflinching resolve to defend the Nationโs sovereignty and territorial integrity, assuring the people of Jammu & Kashmir of a secure and stable environment.
