Major General Vivek Tyagi, Additional Director General, Maharashtra Directorate, National Cadet Corps, visited NCC Group Headquarters Pune to review the ongoing preparations for the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026 and interact with cadets, officers and staff engaged in the training process. The visit marked an important milestone in the Directorateโs annual pursuit of excellence as it prepares its cadets for one of NCCโs most prestigious national-level events.

During the visit, Maj Gen Tyagi was briefed by Col Vineet Midha, Officiating Group Commander, on the detailed selection methodology, phased training framework and overall preparation strategy adopted by the Pune Group to identify and groom high-performing cadets for RDC 2026. The General Officer expressed satisfaction at the systematic, well-planned and rigorous approach being implemented, noting that the high standards upheld by the group reflect the professionalism of Maharashtra Directorate.

Maj Gen Tyagi inspected ongoing drill sessions, cultural rehearsals, physical training routines and administrative arrangements. He commended the dedication of officers, staff and instructors, appreciating their meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to shaping cadets into confident and capable performers on the national stage.
Addressing the cadets, the ADG motivated them to aspire for excellence and embody the core values of NCC โ discipline, leadership, commitment and nation-first spirit. He emphasised that the Maharashtra Directorateโs legacy as the Champion Directorate is a matter of great pride and urged the cadets to uphold this tradition through hard work, consistency and superior performance at RDC 2026.

In his interaction with NCC officers and staff, Maj Gen Tyagi discussed the Directorateโs expansion plans, implementation of the revised NCC syllabus and a range of upcoming adventure activities designed to broaden cadetsโ exposure and hands-on learning. He reiterated the need to strengthen training standards in alignment with national objectives and evolving youth development goals.

The visit concluded with an interactive session in which Maj Gen Tyagi appreciated the efforts of Pune Group Headquarters and encouraged the entire team to continue setting benchmarks of excellence, reinforcing Maharashtra Directorateโs leadership and reputation within the National Cadet Corps.
