Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Commander Northern Command, conducted a comprehensive review of the operational preparedness of troops deployed in the Siachen and Batalik sectors, two of the most challenging and strategically crucial frontiers guarded by the Indian Army.
Both sectors are known for their extreme weather, treacherous terrain, and year-round sub-zero conditions, making them among the toughest military deployments in the world. Despite these adversities, the area continues to be manned by battle-hardened and highly motivated soldiers who maintain unbroken vigilance along the sensitive northern borders.
During his visit, Lt Gen Sharma interacted with troops stationed at forward locations and commended their exceptional professionalism, high morale, and unwavering commitment to maintaining peak operational readiness. He lauded their ability to remain perpetually battleworthy despite the harshest climatic and environmental challenges.
The Army Commander encouraged the soldiers to continue evolving into futuristic, multi-dimensional warriors, seamlessly blending cutting-edge technology with human resilience to uphold India’s operational supremacy in these critical sectors. He emphasised the importance of leveraging modern surveillance tools, mobility solutions, and enhanced situational awareness systems to stay ahead in the high-altitude battlespace.
