The 165 Infantry Battalion (TA), Home & Hearth (H&H), Assam, under the aegis of Eastern Command, is conducting a recruitment rally in Imphal, Manipur, from 1–7 December 2025.

In a landmark move aimed at women empowerment, the Territorial Army (TA) has, for the first time, allowed female candidates to participate in the recruitment process. Successful candidates will make history as the first women soldiers of the Territorial Army (Home & Hearth Battalion), marking a significant step towards greater gender inclusivity in the Indian Armed Forces.

The recruitment rally has drawn enthusiastic participation, reflecting both the growing interest of women in national service and the TA’s commitment to fostering diversity and equal opportunity. Selected candidates will undergo rigorous training to serve alongside their male counterparts, contributing to regional security and community support missions.

This initiative underscores the Territorial Army’s vision of empowering women while strengthening India’s defence capabilities.
