The Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala is set to host the prestigious Admiral’s Cup 2025—one of the world’s most respected international naval sailing championships—from 08 to 13 December. The 14th edition of the event will see participation from 35 countries, reflecting its growing global stature and widespread recognition among maritime nations.
Instituted in 2010, the Admiral’s Cup is designed to foster camaraderie, professional bonding and deeper maritime cooperation among officer trainees from friendly foreign navies. Over the years, it has evolved into a premier global competition, attracting top sailing talent from naval academies across continents.

The championship will be conducted in the Match Racing format using ILCA–6 class sailboats, a globally recognised category that demands tactical brilliance, physical endurance and superior seamanship. This year’s participants come from Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania and the Americas, making the competition a vibrant showcase of international maritime culture and teamwork.
The Indian Naval Academy’s modern sailing facilities, coupled with the ideal sea conditions along the Ezhimala coast, provide a world-class setting for the event. In addition to the races, visiting teams will engage in cultural exchanges, interactions and outreach activities—experiencing India’s naval traditions and the Academy’s training environment up close.
The championship will formally open on 09 December with an inauguration ceremony, followed by four days of high-intensity racing in challenging wind and sea conditions. The event will conclude on 13 December with the Closing Ceremony, during which top-performing crews and outstanding individual sailors will be honoured.
Reinforcing India’s dedication to global maritime cooperation, the Admiral’s Cup 2025 stands as a testament to the shared values of discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship that unite navies across the world.
