The Southern Command Investiture Ceremony held at Ahmedabad stood as a solemn and deeply moving tribute to the extraordinary courage, supreme sacrifice and unwavering spirit of the Indian Armyโs brave soldiers.

In a poignant segment of the ceremony, Veer Naris, Veer Matas and family members of the Bravehearts who laid down their lives in the service of the nation were honoured and felicitated. The ceremony conveyed the nationโs gratitude, respect and solidarity with the families, whose resilience and dignity continue to inspire generations of soldiers in uniform.

The Indian Army paid tribute to the sacrifice and fortitude of these families, reaffirming that the legacy of the fallen soldiers remains a guiding force for the armed forces.

On the occasion, Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, also felicitated distinguished veterans for their achievements in diverse fields such as social service, youth mentorship and community development.
The recognition highlighted the veteransโ continued contribution to nation-building in Gujarat, underscoring that service to the nation endures well beyond active military duty.
