The JAI Se Vijai Seminar 2026 commenced at Southern Command as a focused professional forum aimed at advancing the Honourable Prime Minister’s vision of JAI—Jointness, Aatmanirbharta and Innovation—towards building an integrated, technologically empowered and future-ready force. The seminar brings together senior military leadership, industry leaders, academia and innovators to align ideas and actions for multi-domain readiness and a Viksit Bharat–aligned security framework.

Delivering the opening address, Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, underscored that the changing character of warfare demands truly integrated, innovation-driven and self-reliant forces to retain operational advantage and strategic relevance. Emphasising that “JAI is not just a framework, but a pathway to success—JAI se Vijai,” he highlighted that the pillars of Jointness, Aatmanirbharta and Innovation must define how the Armed Forces train, equip and employ capabilities to meet present challenges and anticipate future ones.

In his keynote address, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, described the three pillars of JAI as the pathway to VIJAI, stressing rapid technology absorption and institutional transformation as critical enablers of future force readiness. He highlighted the need for systemic change to integrate emerging technologies and foster joint capability development across services.
Day One featured the session “Atmashakti: Joint Synergy for Combat Strength & Self-Reliance,” with senior leaders and eminent experts deliberating on joint capability building and innovation-led combat strength. The seminar continues on Day Two with a focus on Aatmanirbharta through Indigenous Defence Ecosystems and Military–Civil Fusion, aimed at accelerating defence innovation, integration and whole-of-nation capability development.
