Lieutenant General DG Misra, AVSM, General Officer Commanding, Headquarters Uttar Bharat, visited the rugged Harsil sector to review operational preparedness and ongoing reconstruction at the Army Garrison Harsil in the aftermath of Operation Dharali.

During the visit, the GOC assessed the progress of infrastructure restoration and force readiness in the challenging high-altitude terrain. Interacting with personnel of the Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), he commended their grit, seamless synergy and unwavering commitment to duty under demanding conditions.

Lt Gen Misra underscored the importance of “smart soldiering,” calling for the seamless integration of modern weapons, advanced equipment and emerging technologies into daily operations to sustain peak operational readiness and enhance mission effectiveness.

The visit reaffirmed the focus on rebuilding resilient infrastructure while reinforcing border security, with troops remaining mission-ready to meet evolving challenges across the sector.
