Subedar Sandeep Kumar Dhaka of the Indian Army made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty during Operation Sheri Kalan in the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.
According to official information, the Junior Commissioned Officer was operating in rugged and challenging terrain during prolonged operations in the general area of Poonch when the incident occurred at around 2:30 pm. During the operation, he slipped and fell on the ground and subsequently became unresponsive.

Evacuated to Military Hospital
Subedar Dhaka was immediately evacuated to the Military Hospital at Potha, where medical teams made determined efforts to revive him. Despite the best possible medical care, the brave soldier succumbed while in the line of duty.
White Knight Corps Pays Tribute
The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army paid solemn tribute to the gallant JCO, honouring his unwavering courage, dedication and selfless service to the nation.
In a statement, the formation expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family, stating that the Army stands firmly with them during this moment of profound grief.
Subedar Sandeep Kumar Dhaka’s sacrifice will be remembered as a testament to the commitment and bravery of Indian soldiers serving the nation in difficult operational conditions.
