Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, visited the Headquarters Maharashtra, Gujarat & Goa Area to review key infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving troop habitat and welfare.
During the visit, the Army Commander inspected the renovated Albert Ekka Barrack, a transit facility designed for Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks (ORs). He also reviewed the progress of the Married Accommodation Project (MAP) at Colaba Military Station, emphasising the importance of timely completion while maintaining uncompromising standards of quality.

Focus on Upgrading Living Infrastructure
Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth further visited the AMWP Special Repair accommodation project, where he appreciated the ongoing efforts to upgrade living infrastructure and improve residential facilities for Army personnel.

Commendations for Exemplary Service
On the occasion, the Southern Army Commander presented on-the-spot commendations to four service personnel from the Indian Army and the Indian Navy in recognition of their exemplary service and dedication to duty.
Commending all ranks for their professionalism and commitment, Lt Gen Seth underscored the importance of cohesive command structures and robust support systems in sustaining the operational effectiveness of the armed forces.

The visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s continued focus on enhancing infrastructure, welfare and living conditions for its personnel while maintaining high standards of operational readiness.
