A total of 73 cadets from the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla visited the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre (MLIRC), Belgaum from 16 to 22 March 2026, gaining valuable exposure to the regiment’s legacy and training environment.

Insight into Regimental Ethos
The visit provided cadets with a deeper understanding of the rich heritage, traditions and operational ethos of the Maratha Light Infantry, one of the Indian Army’s distinguished infantry regiments.

Interaction and Training Exposure
Cadets had an insightful interaction with the Commandant of MLIRC and visited key establishments including the Commando Wing and Rashtriya Military School (RMS) Belgaum, enhancing their knowledge of military training systems.

Adventure and Learning Experience
As part of the programme, cadets also participated in white water rafting on the Kali River at Dandeli, combining adventure with team-building experiences.

The visit offered a unique blend of learning, adventure and regimental pride, inspiring cadets to uphold the finest traditions of the Indian Army.
