Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander of the Northern Command, chaired a high-level security review and coordination meeting at Nagrota on Thursday to assess the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness in the region.

During the meeting, Lt Gen Sharma received detailed updates from all Joint Control Centres (JCCs) in the presence of senior military officials and key stakeholders from various security agencies. The review focused on strengthening coordination mechanisms and ensuring a unified approach to counter evolving security challenges.
The Army Commander emphasised the critical need for enhanced inter-agency synergy, highlighting the importance of real-time intelligence sharing and seamless execution of joint operations. He stressed that close coordination among the Army, intelligence agencies, and other security forces is essential to maintain operational effectiveness.

Underscoring the dynamic nature of threats in the region, Lt Gen Sharma called for maintaining a robust and responsive counter-terrorism grid. He directed all agencies to remain vigilant and proactive in identifying and neutralising potential threats to ensure peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting reflects the Indian Army’s continued focus on strengthening integrated security frameworks and enhancing preparedness to tackle emerging challenges in sensitive areas.
