Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander of the Sapta Shakti Command and Colonel of the Madras Regiment, presided over the 36th Biennial Battalion Commanders Conference at the Madras Regimental Centre. The conference brought together Commanding Officers, senior officers, veterans, and Subedar Majors to review the regiment’s performance and chart its future course.
The proceedings began with a solemn tribute to the bravehearts of the regiment, followed by a Special Sainik Sammelan. Achievers across various domains were felicitated, and the gathering was exhorted to uphold the proud ethos and traditions of the Madras Regiment. An open-house interaction with veer naris and veterans was also conducted, reaffirming the regiment’s continued commitment to their welfare and well-being.

The conference featured detailed deliberations on key policy matters and a roadmap for future development. Discussions focused on harnessing the potential of Agniveers, nurturing junior leadership, and addressing contemporary operational and administrative challenges. The evolving Agniveer training philosophy was reviewed to align with modern military requirements.
