Major General P Naruk, Commander Base Workshop Group (BWG), visited 506 Army Base Workshop (ABW) and conducted an extensive review of its operational and maintenance processes.
During the visit, the General Officer examined restoration activities, quality testing mechanisms, and equipment sustainment procedures aimed at ensuring operational reliability and timely support to field formations of the Indian Army.

Officials briefed Maj Gen Naruk on the critical role played by 506 ABW in maintaining the operational availability and serviceability of military equipment for frontline units.
The review also focused on strengthening strategic collaborations with industry partners to address emerging challenges related to equipment maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle support. Discussions highlighted the importance of innovation and indigenous solutions in enhancing long-term defence preparedness.

The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on capability enhancement, technological self-reliance, and alignment with the national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047.

The visit reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to promoting indigenisation and strengthening sustainment capabilities through modernisation and collaborative innovation.
