In a proud moment for the Indian Army, the 60 Parachute Field Hospital, functioning under the aegis of the Shatrujeet Brigade, has been conferred the prestigious Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar 2024 for its exemplary contribution during Operation Dost.
The award was presented during the Investiture Ceremony held at the National Institute of Disaster Management in New Delhi by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Following the devastating earthquake that struck Türkiye in February 2023, the unit rapidly deployed a 99-member medical team to the affected region under Operation Dost.
The team established a 30-bedded field hospital at Hatay and provided critical medical assistance to more than 3,500 earthquake-affected people while operating under extremely challenging humanitarian conditions.
The national honour recognises the Indian Army’s professionalism, rapid response capability, and unwavering commitment towards humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations beyond national borders.
The achievement also highlights India’s growing role in global humanitarian missions and the operational capability of the Armed Forces in responding swiftly to international crises.
