Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff of the Indian Navy, inaugurated the Naval Sailing Node at Bhojtaal in Bhopal on May 17, 2026.
The newly inaugurated facility aims to strengthen watermanship training, discipline, and sporting excellence while promoting adventure and aquatic sports activities among naval personnel and youth.

The Naval Sailing Node will be utilised for both recreational and competitive watermanship activities and is expected to boost training in sailing, rowing, kayaking, and canoeing.
The initiative also seeks to encourage National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets and the youth of Madhya Pradesh to actively participate in water sports and inspire them to consider careers in the Armed Forces.

The inauguration ceremony featured a spectacular sail parade along with kayaking, canoeing, and rowing demonstrations by Indian Navy personnel, showcasing professional seamanship and maritime sporting skills.
The establishment of the sailing node reflects the Indian Navy’s continued commitment towards promoting physical fitness, adventure sports, maritime culture, and youth engagement across the country.
