Twenty-four Young Officers (YOs) undergoing Regimental Orientation Training at 1 EME Centre visited the MCEME, Secunderabad, on May 18–19, 2026, as part of their professional military and technical exposure programme.
During the visit, the officers toured various faculties of MCEME, where they were briefed on advanced training methodologies, key indigenisation initiatives, and the latest technological advancements being integrated into military training and operational support systems.

The Young Officers were introduced to state-of-the-art training laboratories focusing on drones, robotics, artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, and modern infrastructure supporting the sustenance and innovation of weapon systems, aviation assets, electronic warfare equipment, and communication technologies.
The officers also visited the EME Archives and Museum, where they gained insights into the rich heritage, operational legacy, and evolution of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers.

The visit highlighted the continued emphasis of the Indian Army on technology-driven transformation, indigenous capability development, and preparing future leaders for modern, network-centric warfare environments.

As the officers prepare to assume leadership responsibilities in the field, the orientation programme aimed to strengthen their understanding of innovation, precision engineering, and operational sustainment capabilities central to the Corps of EME.
