Air Marshal IS Walia, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Air Command, visited an Indian Air Force base within the Command’s Area of Responsibility (AoR) to review its operational preparedness and readiness.
During the visit, the Air Marshal was briefed on the base’s operational capabilities, ongoing activities and measures undertaken to maintain a high state of readiness in support of the Indian Air Force’s operational commitments.

Air Marshal Walia also interacted with Air Warriors and assessed the preparedness of personnel tasked with safeguarding the nation’s airspace and strategic interests in the region.
Commending the personnel for their dedication and professionalism, he lauded their high standards of operational readiness and commitment to duty. He emphasised the importance of maintaining vigilance, mission focus and operational excellence in an evolving security environment.

The visit underscored the Indian Air Force’s continued emphasis on combat preparedness, force readiness and professional excellence across its operational bases.

Officials stated that regular reviews by senior leadership play a vital role in ensuring that frontline units remain capable of responding effectively to emerging challenges while maintaining the highest standards of operational efficiency and service readiness.
