Lieutenant General R. S. Sundaram, SM, VSM, Director General of Recruiting, visited Danapur to review recruitment-related initiatives and assess the operational preparedness of facilities involved in the Indian Army’s recruitment process.

During the visit, the General Officer interacted with Major General Ravinder Singh, Additional Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Bihar and Jharkhand Directorate. The discussions focused on youth outreach, recruitment awareness and the role of NCC in inspiring young aspirants to join the Armed Forces.

Lt Gen Sundaram also visited the Online Common Entrance Examination (CEE) Centre, where he reviewed the arrangements and operational preparedness for conducting recruitment examinations. He assessed the measures implemented to ensure a transparent, efficient and seamless recruitment process for candidates appearing for Army recruitment examinations.

The Director General of Recruiting examined various aspects of the examination system, including infrastructure, candidate facilitation measures and administrative procedures aimed at maintaining fairness and integrity throughout the selection process.

As part of his visit, Lt Gen Sundaram interacted with Brigadier R. K. Bora, Commandant of the Bihar Regimental Centre, and engaged directly with Agniveers undergoing training. The interaction provided an opportunity to obtain firsthand feedback on the current recruitment system and understand the experiences of newly inducted soldiers.

The General Officer discussed the aspirations, motivations and challenges faced by young recruits, gaining valuable insights into their expectations from military service and the recruitment process.

The engagement also served as a platform to evaluate the effectiveness of existing recruitment initiatives and identify opportunities for further strengthening and refining the Army’s recruitment framework to better serve aspiring candidates across the country.

The visit underscored the Indian Army’s continued commitment to maintaining a transparent, technology-driven and candidate-friendly recruitment system while ensuring that the best talent from across the nation is inducted into its ranks.
