Lieutenant General VMB Krishnan, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command, visited Headquarters 101 Area in Shillong to review the operational and administrative preparedness of the formation.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the prevailing security situation, operational readiness and administrative initiatives undertaken to ensure effective functioning of the formation. He reviewed measures aimed at maintaining a high level of preparedness and enhancing overall operational efficiency.

Lt Gen Krishnan also interacted with officers and troops, gaining firsthand insights into the formation’s activities and its role in supporting operational commitments in the region.
The Eastern Army Commander appreciated all ranks for their high morale, professionalism and steadfast commitment to duty. He commended the formation for maintaining exemplary standards of readiness and operational effectiveness while carrying out its responsibilities.

He also lauded the adoption of innovative practices and modern solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency and administrative effectiveness. Emphasising the importance of adaptability and continuous improvement, Lt Gen Krishnan encouraged personnel to continue embracing innovation to meet emerging challenges.
The visit reaffirmed Eastern Command’s focus on maintaining robust operational preparedness, strengthening administrative systems and fostering a culture of excellence across all formations under its command.
