Lieutenant General Mohit Malhotra, AVSM, SM, assumed the appointment of General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), South Western Command on 1 July 2026, taking over the leadership of the Indian Army’s Sapta Shakti Command.

In a solemn ceremony at Jaipur Military Station, the Army Commander paid homage to the nation’s Bravehearts by laying a wreath at Prerna Sthal and reviewed a ceremonial Guard of Honour on assuming command.

Addressing all ranks, Lt Gen Mohit Malhotra reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening operational readiness, strategic responsiveness and multi-domain capabilities across the Command’s area of responsibility. He called upon all personnel to continue upholding the highest standards of professionalism, combat preparedness and dedication to national security.

The Army Commander also extended his greetings to all ranks, Veer Naris, Veterans, Defence Civilian Employees and the families of Sapta Shakti Command, reiterating his commitment to their welfare, motivation and professional excellence while carrying forward the proud traditions and ethos of the Indian Army.
