Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, visited Headquarters Maharashtra, Gujarat & Goa Area to review the formation’s operational preparedness and assess its readiness to undertake a wide spectrum of mission-essential tasks. The visit reflected the Southern Command’s continued focus on maintaining high standards of operational efficiency, logistical resilience, and organisational excellence.
During the visit, the Army Commander conducted a comprehensive review of key operational aspects, including logistics sustainability, infrastructure development, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) preparedness, and initiatives aimed at the welfare of veterans. The discussions also focused on strengthening the formation’s ability to respond effectively to both conventional operational requirements and emergency situations while ensuring sustained support for serving personnel and ex-servicemen.
Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar appreciated the efforts undertaken by the headquarters in enhancing operational capability through robust logistics planning, modern infrastructure, and efficient administrative systems. He emphasised the importance of maintaining a high level of readiness and adaptability in an evolving security environment while continuing to improve support mechanisms for veterans and civil authorities during humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations.
Recognising exceptional performance, the Army Commander presented On-the-Spot Commendations to selected personnel for their exemplary service, dedication, and professional excellence. He lauded all ranks for their commitment, discipline, and unwavering focus on operational responsibilities, acknowledging their contribution to maintaining the formation’s high standards.
