The Indian Army paid a heartfelt tribute to one of its most distinguished veterans, Lieutenant Colonel Prem Prakash Talwar (Retd), as he celebrated his 100th birthday. Commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery in May 1950, Lt Col Prem Prakash Talwar served the nation with distinction during a significant period in India’s military history. Over a military career spanning 27 years, he upheld the highest traditions of the Indian Army before retiring from active service in May 1977. His unwavering commitment, professionalism and dedication continue to inspire generations of soldiers.
To commemorate the remarkable milestone, serving and veteran officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks of the Regiment of Artillery came together to celebrate the centenarian veteran’s life and service. The gathering reflected the deep respect and enduring bond shared within the Artillery fraternity, honouring one of its most senior and revered members.
On behalf of the Director General Regiment of Artillery and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Agnibaaz Division, Lt Col Talwar was formally felicitated in recognition of his distinguished military career and invaluable contributions to the Regiment and the Indian Army.
