The two-day Eastern Air Command (EAC) Station Master Warrant Officers’ (MWOs) Conference concluded with a renewed emphasis on strengthening operational effectiveness through robust maintenance practices, efficient administrative support systems and leadership development within the Indian Air Force.
The conference brought together Station Master Warrant Officers from across the Eastern Air Command to deliberate on key aspects of maintenance management, administrative efficiency and best practices aimed at enhancing the overall operational output of the Command. The deliberations focused on ensuring that frontline units remain mission-ready through effective technical support and streamlined administrative processes.
Addressing the gathering, Air Marshal IS Walia, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Eastern Air Command, underscored the importance of maintaining a consistently high state of operational readiness in an evolving security environment. He emphasised that preparedness, professionalism and technical excellence remain critical to the Indian Air Force’s ability to respond swiftly and effectively to any operational contingency.
Air Marshal Walia highlighted the pivotal role played by Station Master Warrant Officers in sustaining operational capability across air bases. As senior non-commissioned leaders, MWOs serve as the vital link between command leadership and air warriors, ensuring high standards of discipline, maintenance and administrative efficiency throughout the organisation.
Recognising the rapid induction of advanced technologies and next-generation weapon systems into the Indian Air Force, the AOC-in-C called upon Station MWOs to actively mentor and motivate younger air warriors. He encouraged them to continuously upgrade their technical knowledge and operational skills to effectively operate and maintain modern weapon platforms, thereby ensuring that the force remains technologically proficient and combat-ready.
The conference also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss emerging challenges and identify measures to further improve maintenance practices and administrative support mechanisms across the Command. Such interactions contribute to standardising procedures, enhancing coordination and strengthening the operational effectiveness of units under Eastern Air Command.
