Twenty-two officers of the Sri Lankan Army successfully completed a Tailor Made Intelligence Training Course at the Military Intelligence Training School and Depot (MINTSD) on 25 July 2026, further strengthening defence cooperation and professional military ties between India and Sri Lanka.
The specialised course was designed to enhance the participants’ expertise in modern military intelligence, equipping them with advanced knowledge in intelligence tradecraft, analytical methodologies, and operational intelligence processes. The programme forms part of the Indian Army’s longstanding commitment to capacity building and professional military education for officers from Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs).
Throughout the training, the Sri Lankan officers received comprehensive instruction in Intelligence Tradecraft and Intelligence Analysis. The curriculum focused on developing analytical skills, intelligence gathering techniques, assessment methodologies, and the practical application of military intelligence in contemporary operational environments. Such training enables officers to better understand evolving security challenges while improving decision-making capabilities during military operations.

The Military Intelligence Training School and Depot has established itself as a premier institution for military intelligence education, not only for Indian Army personnel but also for officers from partner nations. Over the years, the institution has earned recognition as a Centre of Excellence, regularly conducting specialised intelligence courses for Friendly Foreign Countries as part of India’s defence diplomacy initiatives.
By hosting officers from allied and partner nations, the institution contributes significantly to enhancing interoperability, fostering mutual understanding, and strengthening strategic relationships. The successful completion of the course was marked by a felicitation ceremony presided over by Lieutenant General Devinder Pal Singh, AVSM, SM, Commandant of the Military Intelligence Training School and Depot. Addressing the graduating officers, the Commandant congratulated them on successfully completing the demanding programme and acknowledged their dedication throughout the training.
