Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, laid the foundation stones for several major infrastructure projects in Visakhapatnam, aimed at strengthening naval facilities and improving the quality of life of personnel.
The projects include a G+1 semi-air-conditioned storage accommodation facility at Base Victualling Yard, a state-of-the-art Sailors Institute under INS Vishwakarma and 44 dwelling units for Defence Civilian Married Accommodation at Ashoka Park.

The new storage facility at Base Victualling Yard is expected to enhance the Navy’s logistics and storage infrastructure, while the proposed Sailors Institute will provide improved facilities and support services for naval personnel.
The construction of 44 dwelling units at Ashoka Park will further strengthen residential infrastructure for defence civilian personnel and their families, contributing to improved accommodation facilities in the station.

During the visit, Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla also reviewed various ongoing infrastructure projects at Nau Shakti Nagar, the premier township of the Eastern Naval Command.
The review covered the progress of ongoing works and the efforts being undertaken to expand and modernise infrastructure across the Command.
The infrastructure initiatives reflect the Eastern Naval Command’s focus on creating modern, efficient and sustainable facilities while meeting the growing requirements of its personnel.

The projects are aimed at enhancing operational and administrative infrastructure while simultaneously improving living and welfare facilities for naval personnel, defence civilians and their families.
The foundation-laying ceremonies and review of ongoing projects reaffirm the Eastern Naval Command’s commitment to rapidly expanding its infrastructure and providing improved living conditions for its personnel.
