The Air Force Association hosted the Air Vice Marshal Harjinder Singh Memorial Lecture in Kanpur, commemorating the legacy of one of the pioneers who made significant contributions to the development of Indian aviation and the Indian Air Force.
Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, delivered the keynote address at the event and paid tribute to AVM Harjinder Singh, highlighting his pioneering contributions and lasting influence on the growth of aviation in India.
The memorial lecture provided a platform to reflect on the remarkable journey of Indian aviation and the contributions of individuals who played a key role in shaping the capabilities and professional ethos of the Indian Air Force.

Distinguished speakers at the event included Mr K Sree Kumar, Air Marshal Yalla Umesh, Air Marshal PV Athawale (Retd), Dr Asim Tewari and Air Marshal Jagjeet Singh (Retd). They shared their perspectives and insights on aviation, military history and the enduring legacy of AVM Harjinder Singh.
The event brought together serving and retired members of the Air Force community along with aviation enthusiasts and distinguished guests, fostering professional interaction and remembrance of the pioneering efforts that laid the foundation for the IAF’s evolution.
