According to police, the Havaldar, a resident of Rajasthan posted at Army Headquarters, had visited the cafe with friends. Between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., he alleged that a bouncer became involved in a fight with him, grabbed him by the neck, and threw him out of the premises. When the soldier approached the cafe manager to complain, the manager allegedly abused him and engaged in a scuffle. The Havaldar stated that the manager then instructed the bouncer to push him, causing him to fall and injure his hand.

He was taken to the Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH) in Sector 16, where doctors confirmed a fracture to his hand. A case was registered at the Sector 26 police station on the basis of his complaint under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 126(2) (wrongful restraint) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The manager and an unidentified bouncer have been named as accused; they have not yet been arrested. Investigation is continuing.

The complaint comes a day after police registered a separate case against the same establishment’s management. In that matter, the owner, identified in reports as Vijay Kant, and several unidentified persons were booked on allegations that they abducted, confined, and assaulted a former personal security officer over a salary dispute. That case was registered under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including those relating to hurt, wrongful confinement, kidnapping, and criminal intimidation.

Police have not issued a detailed public statement beyond confirming registration of the latest case. The Army Havaldar’s account remains the primary basis of the complaint at this stage. Further inquiries, including examination of any available closed-circuit television footage from the cafe, are expected as the investigation proceeds.
