Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, visited Command Hospital (CHSC) and Command Military Dental Centre (CMDC-SC) in Pune, where he reviewed critical healthcare capabilities and interacted with patients and medical professionals.
During his visit to Command Hospital, Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar visited the Intensive Care Unit, Operation Theatres, Dialysis Centre, Palliative Care Centre and Malignant Disease Treatment Centre. He reviewed the healthcare capabilities at these facilities and interacted with medical professionals.
The Army Commander commended the dedication of the medical teams at Command Hospital and exhorted them to uphold the highest standards of medical care and service.
The visit provided Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar an opportunity to review critical healthcare facilities and interact with patients and medical professionals. The interaction with patients formed part of his engagement during the visit to Command Hospital.
At the Command Hospital, the Army Commander visited the Intensive Care Unit and Operation Theatres, along with the Dialysis Centre, Palliative Care Centre and Malignant Disease Treatment Centre.

The Army Commander also visited the Command Military Dental Centre, where he reviewed the Maxillofacial Trauma Management Team. The team is capable of mobilisation within 10 minutes.
The visit to CMDC-SC also included a review of the Central CAD/CAM Dental Laboratory. Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar reviewed the facilities and capabilities during his interaction at the Command Military Dental Centre.
The Army Commander appreciated the innovative Hub-and-Spoke model being implemented at CMDC-SC. Under this model, Dental Units across Southern Command can digitally transmit scanned dental models to CMDC-SC for fabrication of prostheses.
The Hub-and-Spoke model enables Dental Units across the Command to transmit scanned dental models digitally to CMDC-SC. The Central CAD/CAM Dental Laboratory then supports the fabrication of prostheses based on the digitally transmitted dental models.
The Maxillofacial Trauma Management Team and the Central CAD/CAM Dental Laboratory were among the capabilities reviewed by Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar during his visit to the Command Military Dental Centre.
The Maxillofacial Trauma Management Team’s ability to mobilise within 10 minutes was also reviewed during the visit. The capability forms part of the rapid trauma response facilities at CMDC-SC.
