Patna: A man wanted in an alleged ₹46 lakh job fraud case was arrested from Vaishali district on Sunday night in a joint operation by the Bihar Special Task Force, Vaishali Police and Patna Police.
The accused has been identified as Rajkishore Shah alias Raghuvendra Kumar, a resident of Jahangirpur Salkhanni village under Mahua police station. He was arrested from the Mahua locality. Police recovered a mobile phone from his possession.
His arrest is linked to a case registered at Danapur police station on May 19 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police said the case was registered after a gang allegedly duped students by promising them jobs in the Army, Railways, Multi-Tasking Staff and other government departments.
The Bihar STF received information from Army Military Intelligence, Danapur, on October 3 about the gang’s activities. Police said the gang had allegedly collected around ₹46 lakh from students in the name of providing jobs. Investigators established Rajkishore’s involvement and arrested him.
Police said two fraud-related cases are registered against him at police stations in Patna and Vaishali districts. Raids are being conducted to arrest other members of the alleged gang.
