The Naval Weapons and Missile Technology Course (NW&MTC-66) concluded at the Military Institute of Training (MILIT), Pune, with 17 officers from the Indian Navy and 13 officers from six Friendly Foreign Countries completing the course.
The course focused on technical subjects and contemporary technologies related to naval weapons and missile systems, with emphasis on their practical application.

The programme provided the participating officers with exposure to technical aspects and contemporary technological developments relevant to naval weapons and missile technology. The emphasis on practical application was intended to connect technical knowledge with its application in operational contexts.
A total of 30 officers participated in the course, comprising 17 officers from the Indian Navy and 13 officers representing six Friendly Foreign Countries. The participation provided a platform for professional interaction among officers from India and partner countries.
The course concluded with a valedictory address by Major General Naveen Thapliyal, Commandant, MILIT. Addressing the participating officers, the Commandant highlighted the rapid pace at which technology is evolving.

Major General Naveen Thapliyal stressed that technology is changing at an unprecedented rate and emphasised the need for officers to remain professionally curious. He urged the participants to apply technology responsibly while operating within operational constraints.
The Commandant also underscored the importance of continuous learning and professional excellence. He emphasised that officers must continue developing their professional knowledge and remain responsive to technological changes throughout their careers.
The valedictory address further highlighted the principle of service before self, reinforcing the importance of professional responsibility alongside technological and operational competence.

The completion of NW&MTC-66 marked the conclusion of a course that combined technical subjects and contemporary technologies with practical application. The participation of officers from the Indian Navy and six Friendly Foreign Countries also provided an opportunity for professional interaction and exchange.
The course concluded with an emphasis on continuous learning, responsible application of technology, professional excellence and service before self as officers prepare to meet the changing demands of the contemporary operational environment.
