New Delhi, October 6, 2026: Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) G P Singh felicitated Olympic medalist and World Champion boxer Lovlina Borgohain at the CRPF Force Headquarters in recognition of her outstanding performance at the 20th Asian Games 2026.
Borgohain won the gold medal in the women’s 75 kg boxing event at the Asian Games, improving upon the silver medal she had secured at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023. With the victory, she became only the second Indian woman boxer to win an Asian Games gold medal.
During the felicitation, the CRPF leadership praised Borgohain for her achievement and acknowledged the determination, discipline and perseverance behind her success at the international level.
Borgohain also interacted with CRPF athletes, including members of the Force’s boxing team. She shared her experiences with the sportspersons and encouraged them to remain committed to their training and strive for greater achievements in national and international competitions.

Addressing CRPF sports personnel on the occasion, DG G P Singh urged them to draw inspiration from Borgohain’s grit, dedication and sporting journey. He encouraged the athletes to pursue excellence with determination and bring further laurels to the Force and the country.

The interaction provided CRPF athletes an opportunity to engage with one of India’s most accomplished boxers and served as a motivational occasion for the Force’s sporting contingent.
