With the whole nation talking about Smriti Iraniโs speech in the Lok Sabha and the emotional and eye-opening answer to the opposition, one canโt help but think of what a powerful personality she is. Ever since she became the Human Resource Development Minister, some have praised her and some criticized her but she never gave in. Being the youngest in Prime Minister Narendra Modiโs cabinet, Smriti Iraniโs political career began when she joined the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in 2003.
From being an eminent actor to a politician there are major life lessons that we all can learn from this brave lady.
- Patience and determination are essential.
Smriti Irani comes from a lower middle-class family and is the eldest of three sisters. Since her young days she has supported and taken care of her family. Since an early age she has always tried to take the load off her parentsโ shoulders by helping them manage the house. Fulfilling her responsibilities has always been her priority. Her dream was to either be an IAS officer or a journalist but those dreams couldnโt come true as she was by a journalist in an interview. Today, journalists all wait for a chance to get to speak with her and get her comments. Itsโ her patience and dedication that has got her well-deserved success. - Hard work always pays off. Always.
Stardom and success doesnโt come overnight, neither is the attainment of it easy and Smriti Irani is a perfect example of it. Before becoming the Television sensation, she too struggled and worked at McDonaldโs Bandra, Mumbai. She used to clean tables and mop the floors. Meanwhile, she auditioned for various TV serials and waited for an opportunity. Her hard work finally paid off when she bagged the role of โTulsiโ in the very famous serial โKyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thiโ, despite many objections from the production of the series to not cast her. - Celebrate diversity.
Smriti Irani comes from a family which truly shows the essence of our country; our diversity in culture. Her father being Punjabi-Maharashtrian and her mother being Bengali-Assamese and her husband being Parsi, itโs safe to say that she understands the nature and diversity of this country and is proud of it. No matter which part of the country you belong to, at the end of the day youโre an Indian. No matter what your mother tongue is, you sing the same national anthem as do 1.252 billion other people. Be proud to be a citizen of the largest democracy in the world. - Speak your mind. Be confident and believe in yourself and be just.
Taking the latest example of Smriti Iraniโs speech in the Lok Sabha, those whoโve seen and heard the speech, you must have seen the way she spoke in front of the opposition. She presented documents, facts and did not fear anyone. She falsified all allegations put on her by providing evidence. While other politicians gave shockingly unbelievable comments on rape cases in our country, she always advocated capital punishment for rapists. - Education is not everything in life.
Many people have commented on her competency as an HRD minister but she has proved everyone wrong. She dropped out of school to pursue her acting career, thereโs nothing wrong with that. Rabindranath Tagore and Dhirubhai Ambani too dropped out of college but they became very successful nonetheless. Letโs turn our attention to P Chidambaram and Manmohan Singh despite being educated couldnโt be effective administrators. As for Smriti Irani, she speaks well and letโs not judge her by her education. Let her work speak for itself. - Respect for the Indian Armed Forces.
Remember when General G.D. Bakshi couldnโt hold his tears back on national television? While people were busy debating, a soldier was shedding tears while defending the dignity of our national flag. Smriti Iraniโs phone call to General G.D. Bakshi on โThe News hourโ on Times Now makes us realize how thankless we are of the sacrifices soldiers make for our nation and for us. Patriotism (to most of us) unfortunately comes only on occasions. No nation can attain success and prosperity if it doesnโt have the basic respect and pride for its soldiers, its heroes and its saviours.
As citizens of this country, we at SSBCrack applaud and salute you for your spirit Mrs. Smriti Zubin Irani. Jai Hind!
