Secunderabad, October 30, 2026: A contingent of 60 Class XII students from Bhonsala Military School, Nashik, visited the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad on October 29, 2026, as part of a motivational tour aimed at introducing young students to the Indian Army’s advanced technical training infrastructure and emerging military technologies.
The visit provided students with an opportunity to explore the technological capabilities of the Indian Army, particularly in the fields of electronics, mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence, robotics and advanced defence systems.
During the tour, the students were briefed on the important role played by MCEME in providing advanced technical training to officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and technicians of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME).

The briefing highlighted the institution’s modern training methodologies, indigenous capability development initiatives and state-of-the-art infrastructure that contribute to maintaining the operational readiness of the Indian Army.
As part of the programme, the students visited various faculties, Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and advanced technical laboratories within the institution. These included Dronalaya, Yantralaya and Rachnalaya, which showcase emerging technologies and their potential applications in modern military operations.

The young visitors gained first-hand exposure to a wide range of advanced technologies, including drones, robotics, artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, electronic warfare, aviation systems and advanced communication technologies.

The interaction offered students valuable insights into how technological innovation is transforming modern warfare and strengthening the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces.
MCEME, one of the Indian Army’s premier technical training institutions, plays a crucial role in developing the technical expertise required to maintain, repair and support sophisticated military equipment and systems.
The institution also contributes to the Army’s efforts to promote technological self-reliance and indigenous defence capabilities by integrating modern engineering practices and emerging technologies into its training programmes.
For the students of Bhonsala Military School, the visit served as an opportunity to understand the growing importance of science, technology and engineering in national defence.
The motivational tour also aimed to inspire young minds to pursue careers in the Indian Armed Forces and explore opportunities in defence technology, engineering and innovation.
The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s continued efforts to engage with educational institutions, encourage scientific curiosity and motivate the next generation to contribute to national security through technology, innovation and dedicated service.
