Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, AVSM, VSM, Commandant of the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME), inaugurated ‘Arjun Dwar’, the newly constructed entrance gate of MCEME at Secunderabad, on October 31, 2026.
The inauguration marks a significant addition to the infrastructure of the prestigious Indian Army training institution. The newly constructed gateway has been designed to enhance the institution’s entrance while reinforcing its identity and association with the technological and military heritage of the Indian Army.
Named ‘Arjun Dwar’, the gateway symbolises the strength of the Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun and draws inspiration from Arjun, the warrior and scholar of the Mahabharata. The name reflects the qualities of strength, focus and determination associated with the legendary figure, while also highlighting the importance of military capability and professional excellence.

The new entrance gate is expected to improve accessibility for veterans residing in Secunderabad Military Station, providing them with enhanced access to the institution. Its construction also represents an effort to improve the overall infrastructure and accessibility of the MCEME campus.
MCEME plays an important role in the Indian Army’s training ecosystem, particularly in the field of electronics and mechanical engineering. The addition of Arjun Dwar further contributes to the institution’s physical infrastructure and strengthens its institutional identity.
The initiative reflects MCEME’s continued focus on infrastructure development and its commitment to providing a secure, accessible and progressive environment for its personnel, trainees and visitors. The new gateway stands as a symbolic addition to the institution, connecting its professional legacy with its ongoing efforts towards modernisation and development.
