Following the rescue operation, INS Trishul, one of the frontline warships of the Indian Navy, arrived at the port of Mumbai on April 3, 2024.

The vessel handed over the apprehended pirates to the local police authorities for further legal action in accordance with Indian laws, specifically the Maritime Anti-Piracy Act of 2022. This demonstrates India’s commitment to upholding international maritime laws and combating piracy through legal means.

The rescue of the Pakistani crew and the apprehension of the pirates have been hailed as a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to curb piracy and maritime crime in the IOR.

The Indian Navy’s proactive stance and operational readiness have once again proven instrumental in safeguarding maritime interests and promoting maritime security in the region.

The Indian Navy’s anti-piracy operations are conducted in close coordination with international maritime security partners and in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.

The successful outcome of the rescue operation serves as a testament to the Navy’s professionalism, operational capabilities, and commitment to maintaining peace and stability at sea.

The incident also highlights the importance of international cooperation and collective efforts in addressing maritime security challenges such as piracy.

As a responsible maritime nation, India remains committed to working closely with regional and international partners to combat piracy and ensure the safety of global maritime trade routes.

In reaffirming its resolve to safeguard merchant shipping and seafarers in the IOR, the Indian Navy sends a strong message to those engaged in maritime crime.

With its vigilant presence and proactive approach, the Indian Navy remains a formidable force in deterring piracy and maintaining maritime security in the region.
