Indian Air Force Partners with GVK EMRI to Enhance Emergency Medical Response

New Delhi, May 3, 2024: In a significant stride towards bolstering its emergency medical responsecapabilities, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has forged a strategic partnership with GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI).

Air Marshal Rajesh Vaidya, Director General Medical Services (Air), formalized this collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mr. Krishnam Raju, Director of GVK EMRI, on May 3rd, 2024.

The MoU, aimed at establishing an Emergency Medical Response System, marks a milestone in enhancing the IAF’s capacity to respond effectively to medical crises.

Under this partnership, IAF medical practitioners will undergo specialized training in emergency preparedness and response at the state-of-the-art facilities of GVK EMRI in Hyderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Air Marshal Rajesh Vaidya underscored the importance of equipping IAF personnel with the necessary skills and knowledge to handle medical emergencies efficiently.

He emphasized that the collaboration with GVK EMRI would provide invaluable training and exposure to IAF medical professionals, enabling them to deliver prompt and effective medical assistance during critical situations.

The training program, tailored to the specific needs of the IAF, will cover a wide range of emergency medical procedures, including trauma care, cardiac emergencies, and disaster response protocols.

The hands-on training, supplemented by theoretical knowledge and simulation exercises, aims to enhance the competency and readiness of IAF medical personnel in dealing with diverse medical scenarios.
