Major Simrat Rajdeep Singh Indian Army Doctor Saves Critically Ill Passenger on Flight

In an act of extraordinary courage and medical proficiency, Major Simrat Rajdeep Singh, a doctor from the Indian Armyโ€™s Western Command Hospital in Chandimandir, saved the life of a critically ill 27-year-old passenger aboard an Indigo flight from Goa to Chandigarh.

The incident occurred shortly after the flight, numbered 6E724, took off from Goa at approximately 5:45 pm. Within minutes, a passenger exhibited severe respiratory distress, prompting Major Simrat to spring into action. He immediately requested an emergency medical kit from the flight crew and successfully resuscitated the ailing passenger.

Recognizing the severity of the patientโ€™s condition, Major Simrat urged the pilot to make an emergency landing. The pilot swiftly contacted the local air traffic control, which facilitated an urgent descent to Mumbai airport. The flight landed safely, ensuring that the passenger received the necessary medical attention.

After the emergency stop, the aircraft resumed its journey, departing Mumbai at 8:30 pm and arriving in Chandigarh by 10:30 pm. Major Simratโ€™s quick thinking and medical expertise not only saved a life but also demonstrated the readiness and skill of military personnel in critical situations.
