Lieutenant General H S Sahi, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, General Officer Commanding (GOC) Spear Corps, recently conducted a visit to the headquarters of the Assam Rifles in Kohima and Chieswema, Nagaland. During his visit, Lt Gen Sahi reviewed the operational preparedness of the units stationed there and assessed the current security dynamics in the region.
The GOC commended the Northern Sentinels—personnel of the Assam Rifles—for their exemplary hard work and dedication. He acknowledged their vital role in maintaining peace and stability in the region, which faces various security challenges. Lt Gen Sahi’s visit highlights the continuous efforts of the Indian Army and the Assam Rifles to ensure a high state of readiness in all operational aspects.
The Spear Corps, under the leadership of Lt Gen Sahi, is responsible for overseeing the Army’s operations in parts of the Northeast, and this visit underscores the Corps’ commitment to supporting the Assam Rifiles in their duties. The review of operational preparedness is part of routine assessments conducted by senior military leaders to ensure that the forces are well-prepared to respond to any situation that may arise.
