In a significant step towards enhancing India’s defense capabilities through technological innovation, Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani, Vice Chief of the Army Staff (VCOAS), visited IIT Madras to explore collaborative opportunities with the institute’s faculty and researchers. The focus of the discussions centered on pioneering advancements in artificial intelligence, armaments, and unmanned aerial systems.

During his visit, Lt Gen Subramani engaged in in-depth discussions with leading academics and researchers, examining the potential for integrating cutting-edge technologies developed at IIT Madras into military applications. This initiative is part of the Indian Army’s ongoing efforts to foster partnerships with academic institutions to drive innovation and self-reliance in defense technologies.

The VCOAS also met with industry leaders and made strategic visits to defense firms, including MSMEs and startups, that are developing next-generation capabilities and solutions.
