QinetiQ US has secured a substantial task order valued at $42 million aimed at the development and enhancement of embedded intelligent sensor processing and advanced imaging technologies tailored for the United States Army. The contract was awarded by the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Commandโs C5ISR Centerโs Research & Technology Integration Directorate and spans a four-year period. This initiative is designed to address the Armyโs urgent research and development needs.
The scope of the project encompasses multiple crucial components, including the advancement of Aided Target Recognition capabilities, the design of innovative signal and image processing algorithms, and the creation of new software applications. QinetiQ plans to employ testbed integration and rigorous testing protocols to evaluate the efficacy of these technological improvements.
In a statement regarding the award, Jonathan Riksen, executive vice president of QinetiQ USโ National & Global Security Solutions business unit, emphasized the companyโs dedication to pushing the boundaries of sensor technology. He highlighted that this initiative directly contributes to the Armyโs critical modernization objectives.
