In a significant event for the Indian Navy’s medical services, Surgeon Vice Admiral Kavita Sahai, SM, VSM, the Director General Medical Services (Navy), made her inaugural visit to Mumbai to inspect the Fleet Dental Centre, a state-of-the-art facility associated with the Western Fleet.
During her visit, Surg VAdm Sahai, who holds a distinguished position as the first woman to assume the role of Director General Medical Services (Navy), reviewed the advanced dental care facilities provided at the centre. Known for her pioneering role in military medicine, having also been the first woman to serve as Colonel Commandant in the Army Medical Corps (AMC), her presence underscored the commitment to excellence in naval healthcare.
The Fleet Dental Centre, inaugurated as part of the Indian Navy’s ongoing efforts to meet the dental health needs of its personnel, offers comprehensive dental services that align with international standards. The centre’s establishment as a full-fledged dental hospital ensures that the naval community in Mumbai has access to the latest in dental healthcare and practices.
