In a grand ceremony held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh conferred prestigious Gallantry, Distinguished, and Meritorious Service medals to Indian Coast Guard (ICG) personnel in recognition of their valor, dedication, and exceptional service in safeguarding India’s maritime frontiers.
A total of 32 awards were presented, including:
- 06 President’s Tatrakshak Medals for gallantry and distinguished service
- 26 Tatrakshak Medals for meritorious service
The event was a tribute to the relentless commitment of the Indian Coast Guard, honoring their courage in maritime security operations, humanitarian assistance, and disaster response efforts.
Among the awardees, three stalwarts from the Indian Coast Guard’s Region (North-East) were recognized for their exceptional contributions to the elite force. Their unwavering professionalism and operational excellence have significantly enhanced India’s coastal security and maritime domain awareness.
Shri Rajnath Singh lauded the Indian Coast Guard for their round-the-clock vigilance, rapid response capabilities, and dedication to protecting India’s vast coastline. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening maritime security infrastructure, ensuring the ICG remains at the forefront of national defense and disaster relief efforts.
