In a major breakthrough, Lieutenant Colonel Pradeep Nigam, who went missing from the Sagar Army Camp in Madhya Pradesh on June 2, has been successfully rescued from Lalitpur in Uttar Pradesh. Lt Col Nigam had reportedly left the Army camp in Sagar for his routine morning walk but failed to return, raising immediate concerns among his colleagues. The Army lodged a missing personโ€™s complaint at the Cantonment Police Station in Sagar, following which a full-scale search was launched. Teams scanned CCTV footage, traced mobile signals, and gathered inputs from various sources to track his movements.

Authorities coordinated across state lines to ensure the officerโ€™s safe recovery. After days of effort, he was found alive in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. While the specific details regarding his condition and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain undisclosed, officials have confirmed that he is safe and is now under the care of military authorities.

The disappearance of a senior officer of Lt Col Nigamโ€™s rank is considered extremely rare and has drawn national attention. Security agencies are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the reasons behind the incident. All possible angles, including personal, professional, and psychological factors, are being explored.

The rescue has brought immense relief to the officerโ€™s family and the wider armed forces community. His safe return stands as a testament to the swift and effective coordination between military and civilian agencies.

This case highlights the Indian Armyโ€™s and law enforcementโ€™s commitment to the safety of its personnel and their ability to respond quickly in crisis situations involving high-ranking officials. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
