Seventeen officers graduate with advanced technical and leadership training.

The Electronics and Mechanical Engineering School in Vadodara celebrated the successful conclusion of its latest Young Officer Course for the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) on July 15, 2025. Seventeen officers completed the intensive training programme, designed to impart essential technical and leadership skills to junior officers entering the Indian Army’s engineering and maintenance stream.

The closing ceremony was addressed by Major General Mohit Gandhi, Commandant of EME School, who praised the high standards of dedication and professionalism shown by the officers. He reiterated the school’s critical role in shaping a technically proficient cadre of military leaders, aligned with the Indian Army’s goal of operational excellence and modernization.

The EME School, operating under the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), is one of the premier institutions in India for technical military education. It plays a key role in supporting the Army’s equipment readiness and in training officers in the upkeep and innovation of cutting-edge defence systems.

This year’s course reinforced the Indian Army’s push to build a future-ready officer cadre.

The ceremony reflected the Army’s broader vision of integrating advanced technology with leadership training, a cornerstone in preparing its officers for modern battlefield challenges.
