Army’s Statement

In a statement, the Army said:
“Indian Army strongly condemns such incident against a serving soldier. Highest authorities of #UttarPradesh Police have been approached to bring the guilty to books.”

The Army confirmed that an FIR has been lodged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for attempt to murder, unlawful assembly, and robbery. So far, six arrests have been made by the police.

Action Against Toll Operators

The Army has also formally protested to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), urging departmental action against the toll staff involved and demanding measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

Assuring Justice

Reiterating its stance, the Army said it will “pursue the case to its logical conclusion” to ensure justice for the soldier who was assaulted.

The case has sparked widespread outrage, with local residents and veterans’ groups calling for stringent punishment of those involved.
