The Indian Army’s Western Command has stepped up large-scale relief operations in flood-affected border areas, reaffirming its crucial role in aiding civilians during natural disasters.

Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), visited the affected regions to personally review rescue efforts and assess the ground situation. His visit highlighted the Army’s commitment to supporting communities hit hard by this year’s intense monsoon rains, which scientists say have worsened due to climate change.
